After a string of suicides at my high school, a group was formed called “Why You Matter”, who’s goal was to have kids at the school ask why their lives matter by directly answering that question. The second campaign of “Why You Matter” was one called #WishYouKnew, in which students were asked what they wished other students knew about them. I was tasked with editing together a handful of students’ answers to present to the entire school. A big chunk of the latter half of the video ended up being a bloopers segment, where I edited together goofy moments from the recordings I was given to make the school laugh. Maybe that wasn’t the initial goal of the campaign, but it was nice to hear regardless.
